Tools

We often get asked what tools we like and when to use them...Always keep in mind, there is a right and wrong way to use every tool. Here are a few that we recommend.

These are great tools for dogs who like to pull on leash, they behave similar to a horse halter.

Kennels

Your dogs kennel should provide safety and stability to protect. The most versatile and safe brands allow easy transport. Think of it as your dogs bedroom where can relax.

Slip Lead.png

Long Lines

You can use this tool to work on behaviors outside of the

walk. They typically come in 15ft or longer lengths. You can also use it to give your dog some more freedom on hikes. It's important to take your time and not rush this process.

Prong Collar

This tool is best used when it isn’t doing all the work but for guidance or a correction when placed on the dog correctly.

Place Boards

Cots and place boards come in many shapes and sizes. The important features are that they are stable and give a defined parameter, often raised, to stay on. They are building blocks for commands and structure.

E - Collar

E-Collar training is most successful when you find the lowest level of stimulation that your dog responds to. This tool only should be used if your dog understands leash pressure and has been properly introduced to the tool.
